Has anybody else had mail-order dealings with a headcase from Greece
named Anastasios Bisbardis? He just sent me a LARGE order from dbc,
including a bunch of postcards of his island, an invitation (w/ phone
number) for me to visit him if I'm ever in Greece, and a sealed envelope,
inside which was an 8 1/2 by 11 photograph of him posing with a tree, and
a letter which I reproduce in full, preserving his unique orthography:
"What you see in this outstanding photoe is a midium size Zakinthinan
olive tree. This tree is 4-5 m long but the bigest size that this type of
tree reaches is about 1 m lenth.
PLEASE DONT SHOW THIS PHOTOE TO A TREE - PLANT SPECIALIST SCIENTIST!!!!!!!
Why?
Because it is an ABSELLUTELY unknown type of tree even for todays
science!!! I know it is dificult to belive this but it is true. I'm
making research for years about these trees trying to find their age and
I also try to capture their unique beauty into art photographs. I'm
afraid that if these trees be discovered they'll become famous, hundrends
of tourists and scientists will come to visit them and their mystic
valeys will loose the incredible atmosphare and mystery they have today.
And I would loose a place where I can be alone and dream.
Why this photoe is so good?
1) Because it is a self-photoe. I had to photoe myself with no others
help. Try it, is difficult!
2. The light. It's incredible the variety of shapes that these trees take
as sun shines on them and send them light. A bab photographer would never
capture the shadow play in these places. With the help of light you
realize the beauty of the tree.
3. The clothes I wear. Wearing any other clothes the photoe would be bab.
The idea to wear a scurf it was very good because the route of the scurf
is the same with the shape of this tree (every tree has a very diferent
shape from the other). Shape & scurf fit together exelent.
4) The possition of the tree in this photoe _is not_ in the center so you
can see far away the beauty of the soil. That also gives space to where I
am looking at, as I'm not standing to the midle of the photoe
5) I think that with this photoe you can understand the deep psychic
connection between myself and the olives. Just look the shadow of leafs
on my face.

So, uh, does anybody else get mail-order customers like this, or does Dark
Beloved Cloud just attract this sort of thing on a regular basis?
