"rock star tries hand at rock journalism..."

sorry i posted this two days after the fact. it'll give you a nice even
perspective on what the show was like. by the way, sean wrote this review
before thrush hermit hit the stage.

_thrush hermit, treble charger, punch buggy, and sianspheric \!/ birdland
cabaret, july 8, 1995_

What a show! one that sloan would be proud of!

apparently jay and patrick were both there, though i only saw the latter
of the two. hmmm...a conspiracy in the works? ...anyway....

sianspheric, a heavy-metal-ballad-cover-band (or maybe not...) took the
stage at around 11:00 and rawked with full-on intensity. the crowd of
about 50 said "woo woo". um.....

punchbuggy followed with a rollicking (what?) set of pure punk power
whore beast. their cd is groovy, as are their shirts, and gee...even
though punk blows, these guys are pretty cool.

hence, the co-headliners continued the evening in
full-barking-at-the-moon fury. treble charger (they love sloan, they eat
sloan, they digest sloan, ooh) impressed all in attendance with a
beautiful blend of new and old material. among the hits were new tunes,
"morale" and "even grable" from their new sonic unyon cd/cd-rom ep
"self-title". they smell great and they're less filling. rosie...what a
sexy creature.

then, the home-returners thrush hermit, approached and conquered the
ballooning crowd. their twelve-song set was filled with a lot of new
stuff including the brillian "25 all right" from their new cd from
murderecords _the great pacific ocean_. they are cool no matter what
peruzzi says.

well, all that really matters is that patrick was hanging backstage and
that i said "yeah i love you, do you stuff your pants?" he kicked my ass
and sent me on my way.... so i'm lying, big deal.

*heart* sean ramsay from SIANspheric
