Re: Aurora Borealis/Various extras.
Ms. Borealis, to the best of my knowledge,
1) Was previously involved with Various Sloan Members, on a
personal level, and as part of the Halifax Artistic community.
2) Mentioned/Alluded to in three seperate songs, one per full length.
3) Fronts the band Crappo 2. And as for Crappo 2's abilities, let's
go to the archives; From the Halifax Pop Explosion, Oct. 95
"Crappo 2, as fronted by Laura Borealis (a Chicago Expatriate) are
sort of terrifying. Joined by two members of Thrush Hermit as musical
support, Laura breathes deathless prose like " Brian is the name of my
Brother/Steve is the name of my lover..........All these names have five
letters/Except Rebecca." over a plinkily repeated chord progression.
Apparently, Crappo have ten tracks that were recorded with Steve Albini
recorded and unreleased; well, on behalf of myself, I can say; No Rush. "
Any of this could be vaguely incorrect. But I doubt that it is.
On further notes,
a) As annoying as anti-pepsi diatribes, statements of "It doesn't
matter what we do" are even more annoying, foolish, inane, and
irresponsible.
b) I wish to god that someone could configure an e-mail reader that
made ironic and facetious statements blink, or flash, or something, i.e.
The label asking two band members to smoke...although this is something
I've been caught on myself; belated apologies from myself to Mike Pick re:
Toronto. I apologize to Mr. Pick for being an ass.
c) ANY word on US tour dates ? Or general scope ? East coast ? West
Coast ? Nor./ Sou Dakota, Wyoming, and Utah ?
d) When will the Murder page be finished, exactly ? And does anyone
else have trouble accesing the Fan-Freaking-Tastic Sloan page with Internet
Explorer ? (I know, I sold out to Gates...but my machine's too dumb for
Netscape with java.)
e) That's about it. Safe 97, you Beautiful Hoodlums.
