sloan stuff

I just wanted to note that Ira Robbin's is the editor of the Trouser Press
Guide to 90's Rock...and although it sounds like a cheese-ball title, it is
a rather interesting resource. Mr. Robbins speaks very highly of Sloan,
Superfriends, and Jale but not very highly of Erics Trip, Rusty, and Moist
(well, duh).
You have to purchase the latest book on the 90's, but the 70's and 80's are
available on-line. http:///www.trouserpress.com
But the reason I wanted to mention this was that in their review of Garbage
they actually draw a parallel to Sloan...something along the lines of both
bands wearing their influences well and at times creating something much
greater than their influences actually did.
At any rate, I thought that was neat.
